"Messiah" was a loaded term in Jesus' day that he purposely avoided using. Jesus used miracles and other clues to answer John the Baptist's question, "Are you the Expected One?"
Matt 11:1-6
Join us on a profound exploration that promises to redefine your understanding of Jesus as the Messiah. Embark on a journey that spans the Old and New Testaments, culminating in a powerful realization of spiritual liberation through faith in Him. We begin with navigating the challenging question, "Is Jesus the Messiah?" and how answering this question can lead to a transformative commitment in your life. A deep dive into Matthew, chapter 11, reveals perspectives that will significantly enrich your faith journey.
In the next leg of our journey, we travel back in time to the Old Testament, where the term 'Messiah' takes on various avatars. Here, we unlock the mystery of the Messiah through titles like 'Seed of Abraham', 'Son of David', 'Son of Man', 'My Servant', 'The Righteous Branch', and 'The Prince of Peace', all hinting at the expected one. We unravel passages from Genesis, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Micah that prophesy a Messiah who will eradicate evil, establish peace, and whose birthplace is Bethlehem.
Finally, we traverse the New Testament, interpreting Jesus's unique ability to reach the 'poor' in every facet of life - not just economically. We'll investigate how Jesus is perfectly suited to provide solace to those who are brokenhearted, captive, and feel bound in life. The journey concludes by unravelling the beatitude in Matthew 11:6, showcasing the spiritual emancipation Jesus offers to all who believe in Him. Get ready to experience an enlightened journey through the Bible, illuminating the significance of Jesus as Messiah and the blessedness that stems from faith in Him.
